tatianna

FORM OF:
tatiana, tatyanna
ORIGIN:
italic (sabines)  /  latin
NAME ROOT:
TăTĭUS > TATIANUS
MEANING:
This name derives from the Italic (Sabine) and Latin “Tătĭus > Tatianus”, a patronymic derived from the noble imperial Latin “Titius” meaning “honorable”. 1) Titus Tatius was the name of a king of the Sabines, an Italic tribe living near Rome, presumably from the 8th to the 1st century BC. Because the Romans met with the Sabines, Tatius remained in use in Ancient Rome and during the first centuries of Christianity, as well as its diminutive Tatianus and the feminine Tatiana. The name then disappeared in Western Europe, but remained in the Hellenic world, and later in the Orthodox world, including Russia. It honors Orthodox Saint Tatiana who was tortured and martyred in the persecutions of Emperor Alexander Severus c. 230 in Rome. 2) Saint Tatiana is also considered a patron saint of students. Hence, Tatiana Day is now an official school holiday for students in Russia.

Color meaning:

Black is the color of the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, creating an air of mystery. It keeps things bottled up inside, hidden from the world. In color psychology the meaning of the color black is protection from external emotional stress. It creates a barrier between itself and the outside world, providing comfort while protecting its emotions and feelings, and hiding its vulnerabilities, insecurities and lack of self-confidence. In times of fear and uncertainty black contains the energy of the threatening unknown. In a positive state, black is seen as a restful emptiness into which anything may emerge and disappear once again. It is also mysterious, providing a sense of potential and possibility.
