Atinagor

This name derives from the Ancient Greek name “Athēnagórās (Ἀθηναγόρᾱς),” composed of two elements: “Athēnâ ‎(Ᾰ̓θηνᾶ) Athēnaíā ‎(Ἀθηναίᾱ)” (the Goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law, and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill) plus “agorā́ (ἀγορᾱ́)” (assembly, the place of assembly, market, things sold at market, provisions, supplies). 1) Athenagoras was a Father of the Church, a Christian apologist who lived during the second half of the 2nd century of whom little is known for sure, besides that he was Athenian (though possibly not initially from Athens), a philosopher, and a convert to Christianity. 2) Athenagoras I, born Aristocles Matthew Spyrou (1886–1972), initially the Greek archbishop in North America, was the 268th Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, from 1948 to 1972.
