This name means strong as an eagle and smart as a wolf. The name derives from the Old Norse name “Arnhildr” composed of “arn” (Ancient Germanic: *arnu), meaning “eagle” plus “ulfr” (Ancient Germanic: *-wulfaz), meaning “wolf.” Wulf and Wolf were one of the most prolific elements in early Germanic and Nordic names.
