NAME OF THE DAY
This name derives from the Ancient Greek name “Hekatóncheires (Ἑκατόγχειρες)”, composed of two elements: “hekatón (ἑκᾰτόν)” (hundred) plus “kheír (χείρ)” (hand). In turn the name means “hundred-handed ones”. Hekatonkheires, (latinized: Centimani), were figures in an archaic stage of Greek mythology, three giants of incredible strength and ferocity that surpassed that of all titans whom they helped overthrow. According to Hesiod, the Hekatonkheires were children of Gaia (earth) and Uranus (sky).
